Meld
Enabling a safer approach to skincare care by rejecting the widespread use of toxins throughout the market.
Meld started with the aim to better connect people with what they are putting on their skin by removing the barrier of complex ingredients lists and countless plastic bottles cluttering the bathroom cabinet.
The Meld Service operates as a combined system. While the digital platform facilitates co-development and ingredient transparency, the physical dispenser is the key touchpoint inviting users to mix their separated formula at the point of use. In doing so, the product no longer requires toxic shelf-life additives or synthetic materials.
Manufactured in ceramic, stainless steel and natural rubber, the refillable dispenser can be used endlessly as your formulas naturally update over time. The ingredients themselves are provided in biodegradable Vivomer cartridges for completely toxin-free packaging which can be composted after use.
By crafting an approachable user experience across platforms, Meld not only promotes healthier skincare practices, but fosters personal connection and ritual engagement.

First Roots
A new kind of school shoe
Reconnecting Bata with people-first innovation by taking a fresh look at performance in the school footwear market. Focusing on principles of simple cleaning and foot health, this project proposes a new kind of school shoe; one that is breathable, non-toxic and easily maintained whilst remaining affordable for all.
Featuring a wrapover upper and moulded barefoot sole, the design supports growing feet whilst ensuring durability in humid environments. Conscious material choices of local waxed cotton, wool and rubber maximise air flow whilst reducing impact.

Pickle Pot
Creating new flavour experiences for budget-savvy home cooks.
In collaboration with Kenwood at De’ Longhi Group
This jar system helps home cooks utilise common food waste by providing a streamlined system for transforming ‘undesirable’ cooking scraps into flavour-packed preserves through the process of fridge pickling.
This project assessed how storage and serving can be subverted to shift how we view waste. As a result, the product is personable to the user as they try new recipes and rearrange their own pickling lab which makes the most of the unused spaces in common fridge doors.

Perennial Chair
Creating flexible collaborative spaces for an aging workplace
This project responds to research into the effects of an ageing society in the UK. Through understanding the unique effects demographic changes may have on the future of the corporate work environment, I identified the need to encourage knowledge sharing between generations to create a more productive and inspiring workplace for all.
My proposal aims to redefine how office spaces can facilitate a more dynamic learning environment in which workshops, seminars and gatherings can pop up spontaneously.
Through extensive iteration and testing, I created a furniture proposal which rotates between functions as a chair and table for simple flexibility.

The Interp Project
An exhibit of research and design projects responding to an unknown landscape.
Taken from ‘interpretation’, Interp was a self-initiated brief exploring the boundaries of inspiration through the lenses of 11 young designers.
Faced with a rugged, bare landscape, each of us recorded our raw experiences and compared them in the debrief. From there, we forged our design projects responding to our findings and personal responses. My project ‘Fold’ explored the interference of overly-utilitarian outdoors equipment and proposed a distraction-free alterative storage accessory.
As a project lead, I was involved with co-ordinating the research trip in Donegal and resulting exhibition in London.

Nourish
A calming reminder, a combing hair clip
Nourish was a short project exploring relaxation tools for mental wellbeing.
Inspired by the common action to comb your fingers through your hair when seeking comfort, the clip is designed to glide across your scalp and click neatly in place at the back of your head, ready for you when you need it.
This is as much a functional object as it is an act of restbite.
